Post 38: A Bad Case of Ganoderma Butt Rot

Ganoderma butt rot is a relatively new and lethal disease, mostly seen in Florida palm trees. It then begins to rapidly work its way through the tree’s butt (base) area, essentially rotting the wood. The only cure is to cut down the palm tree. Haul out your tools, pull it out! Take it out and haul away!

  1. Ganoderma Butt Rot may be a relatively new and lethal disease in palm trees, but it’s been around for years in humans. Found mostly in politicians, product marketing pimps, corporate executives, well, OK, just about everyone around…..present company excepted, of course.

Happy Easter to all those who are so inclined……..

  2. All palms are assumed susceptible to butt rot, according to the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

Maybe toilet tissue should be used between the palm and the butt to lessen the risk.
You should not however use facial tissues if you read craigslist ads. Because if you do a face palm…
