Free lot of socks

Submitter Ralph wonders if these were “Kidnapped by someone who hates Tupperware lids or sock puppets?” Certainly, someone who doesn’t know that a lot is one half of an ounce and has been since the middle ages. I would guess that a lot is a lot more than one lot. Or is it? Darn, I have gone and confused myself. At least the lot is free.
