DON KON DIRT JUMPER , CHROMOLY FRAME AND FORK WITH TRAIL BLADE FORKS WITH 20 MM SOLID AXEL IN THE FRONT WHEEL. HOPE HUB IN THE REAR WHEEL , DISC BRAKES, THOMPSON SEAT POST, NEEDS SOME WORK , BEST OFFER TAKES IT.

I hardly know where to begin. Why are you shouting, Sparky? Secondly, I’m willing to bet that at some time the bike had the name Don Kona on it. A fork with forks? I hope the hub is in the rear wheel, too. What kind of work does it need? A messenger job? A delivery service? I disagree that there is no suspension. Not having all the answers is getting to me.

  1. Don Kona is a brand name in biking circles. Usually the sort of thing takes a photo of the name plate for model number and such.

Which suggests this is a knock off facsimile–being charitable with that terminology.

In examining the provided photos, I see no evidence of brakes at all, rim or other wise (the alleged hydraulic cylinders would be very obvious).

The one control handle pictured appears to be connected to the derailleur, which would be very complicated, as such controls want bidirectional application, not one direction like a brake grip.

So, Spark wants $450 or OBO for a bike whose brakes are imaginary and has can only gear shift in one direction.

To say that this bike “needs a little work” is a significant understatement..

Minor things like Kona measures their frames in inch dimensions, not small medium, large, etc.
And biking aficionados are rather pedantic about rims, rim sizes, tube versus tubeless tires, Tire maker and type and age, maker of the derailleur and its ratios, and what sort of pedals are installed.

Working, complete, Kona are available on eBay for $450. So, Spark should just take the $45 the pawn shop offered, and Cletus will just have to eat jail food.

  2. Hmm, perhaps Spark answered a CL ad for this.
And went to test ride same.
Only was pointed downhill from the original seller.
Spark vanishes down the hill unable to stop and only able to upshift.
Seller then thinks “Finally, I am rid of the acurs’t thing!”

Spark keeps trying but all of his test riders go up hill and return to him, angry and discomfited.
    Out! Out! Dam Kon!
